Anti-BNP Protesters Breach BBC Security – What’s wrong with this picture? #2

UPDATE

BNP on Question Time: Nick Griffin uses BBC appearance to attack Muslims and gays

The BBC came under siege as Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP, used his appearance on Question Time to attack Muslims and homosexuals while defending the Ku Klux Klan. [whole story]

I can't help but be disturbed by the distinct lack of supporting information with regard to the opening headlines of this article... I would expect a credible journalist to follow such allegations with direct quotes, yet none are provided. In fact, the headlines are never addressed at all ANYWHERE in the article... Doesn't anyone else find this strange? Given the previously mentioned ban on talk show host Michael Savage, AND the recent last minute cancellation of a  free-speech debate between Savage and Cambridge Union, one can only wonder what was really said, and how much of that headline is editorializing...

If Griffin is "attacking" Muslims in Britain, I would have to say any attack would actually be an act of self defense in this particular case. They have Sharia Law in some communities and an openly defiant Muslim population who openly call for the end of English rule in The UK... If he is attacking gays and expressing any kind of support for The KKK, well than, I'd have to say he's lost me there... We'll follow this a bit and see if we get any actual quotes from Griffin so we can better understand what took place.

Anti-BNP Protesters Breach BBC Security – What’s wrong with this picture?

bnpGrabThis image is a screen grab from a video found on Sky News in an article covering an "anti-fascism" rally in the UK, directed at The British National Party (BNP). Their leader, Nick Griffin is to appear on The BBC's  Question Time, which from a standpoint of political prestige, is the Brit equivalent to The O'Reilly Factor. I'm no authority on politics in The UK, but a couple of things struck me right off the top in this story which piqued my interest... It seemed to me much of what The BNP is going through, so too are Tea Party-ers, "Birthers", "Truthers", or just about anyone one who wants to go up against the Obama administration.

First off, the most striking thing about that image is the ubiquitous presence of mass-produced signs... We as "Tea Baggers" understand first hand what true grassroots movements are, because we all make our own signs. It's rare to attend one of our events and find two people carrying two of the same. We roll our own, thanks... Commercially produced signs means somebody spent money, which means there's some other organization "supporting" the protest. This isn't grassroots opposition, it's organized, and therefore suspect [in my book].

The second thing that struck me about this story was how the opposition handles The BNP... The BNP is big in controlling immigration, and apparently has a "white only" policy within their party, which, rumor has it will be dropped prior to this appearance on Question Time. Naturally, any and all opponents to The BNP have until know been content to simply scream "racist!" at them, thus ending the discussion. I know the very words "white only" makes most Conservatives uncomfortable, but you have to take it in context of what's happening with the explosion of the Muslim population in the UK. Radicals who openly demonstrate and publicly call for the deaths of people like Geert Wilders. You also have to be able to overcome your own indoctrination. You know, that whole thing that only white male Christians are racists, everyone else is merely struggling for "equality"... Sure... Everyone gets to struggle for equality, or some other socio-cultural recognition but "us"... If we as Caucasians, the vast minority on the planet, attempt to speak up for preservation of our culture boy... Watch out, you might as well paint a swastika on your head.

The BNP is the upstart, the newcomer... The third party emerging because the other two who are 090915newsavagebritaincovertypically in power have screwed the pooch... Sound familiar? Again, I would like to reiterate that I'm no authority on UK politics, but there certainly seems to be some parallels with what's going on here in our own country. Racist seems to be one of the key designations du jour for ANYONE who wants to challenge the status quo.

The last thing that struck me in this article was one of the comments offered by a Question Time audience member:

Frank Langan, 66, from Ealing, west London, was escorted into the building as he was one of the audience members.

Before he went into Television Centre, he said: "I'm going to go in and find out what Nick Griffin has got to say. I don't have to agree with it but I think it's right that he is allowed on Question Time.

"I think everybody is entitled to their own opinion, even if you don't like them."

Really? Maybe somebody ought to tell the pharmacist, Gordon Brown... Last I heard, Michael Savage was still Banned From Britain...
