Jay,

These articles on the Cult of the Supreme Being aka The Cult of Reason may interest you. It was started by Voltaire, who was much influenced by the philosophy of John Locke.

In my opinion, these so-called rationalist philosophies exalt man, which can be a dangerous concept. The church declared many of these organizations to be Satanic and Satanists today still claim to be rationalists. (See Anton LaVey and the Chruch of Satan.) Obama and his religion to me really seems to have a lot in common with the Jacobins of the French Revolution. Robespierre, head of the Jacobins, and dictator of France practically had himself declared a God at one of the festivals of the Supreme Being, celebrated in the Champs du Mars in Paris.

I heard on Fox today that some Congressmen were fretting about the mid-term election, recalling when the Democrats lost 54 seats after an unsuccessful campaign for HillaryCare. Obama declared that the difference between 1994 and 2010 was that "now you have me." The guy seems to be out of touch with reality. He thinks people are still swooning over him. It should be a veritable bloodbath in November.

Jay, I just don't think that God gives you any guarantee at all in this life and people ought to stop talking about God-given rights or divinely inspired rights. The only rights you have are those that we demand for ourselves. There are no rights according to nature. Nature will kill you in a heartbeat without a second thought. There are only rights that we agree that we ought to have and try to maintain. The Jacobins and others of the French Revolution talked about God-given rights and the church declared them Satanists, because of Le Terreur that these people carried out in France and the ethnic cleansing of Christians, slaughtering hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children, according to the mandate of their "God". A lot of these so-called rationalists were extremely anti-Christian and the "God" that they are talking about is definitely not the Christian God. (See Thomas Jefferson, who was no Christian.) I just don't believe that God serves us or gives us any guarantees of rights or anything else in THIS world. To believe so is just deception, in my opinion. The logical extension of all this talk about God-given rights is a divine destiny for the country and I don't believe in that either. That is rather more like what Obama believes in the divine destiny of the Black Nation and the destruction of America, as we know it.

Thanks for the link. As you point out, people do not want to deal with something that is likely to be very unpleasant for them to recognize. So they just ignore it and hope that things will turn out okay without them having to take action.

This is a provocation and there are a number of reasons for this type of provocation. Sometimes people do it to get publicity, but not the case here. It can also be used to demoralize your opponents and to gradually make them accept what they would otherwise not accept. In totalitarian regimes they make you silently endure absurdities, such as listen en masse to a leader tell obvious lies that everyone knows are not true. My Vietnamese friends tell me that the communist regime starts blaring propaganda in the neigborhoods over loudspeakers very early in the morning, when people would be sleeping. When you have to routinely accept such absurdities on a daily basis, it is very demoralizing for your opponents and makes it harder for the population to unite against more important impositions upon the population.

Obama uses the art of provocation very often. His bowing to dictators and emporors is one example. His praise of Islam and declaration that America is a Muslim country is another. Besides totalitarian regimes, certain Hollywood personalities have used these techniques for decades and Obama has a lot of connections with these people in Hollywood. It can also be used as a test of what populations will accept and/or how much control you have over the media that they will not broadcast such material. This type of thing was done a few years back, I believe in Denver, and the media did broadcast it at that time, but now they have apparently been brought more to heel, if this incident really happened as reported.

This type of thing is a psychological technique for gradually subjugating the population in my opinion. Expect greater provocations to come.

The earth's climate system is just way too complex for people to say with any certainty that CO2 is causing the temperature changes reported. Their assertions that CO2 absolutely causes global warming has been an obvious fraud for a long time. You cannot be completely sure that CO2 does not cause some temperature rise either, but you should not act on something that you can not prove with a reasonable certainty. Science is done by producing an experiment that proves an effect and which is repeatable by others, not by taking a poll of scientists. Scientists are susceptible to the same influences of corruption, psychology and politics as other people are.
